Love God, Love the City

I believe that what is Holy knit cannot be undone
Love of God
Love of City
May the two become one

Molded from red clay
Praise Him who made me
Image of the Father formed and founded on the same day

And this is you too
His glory shines through
Unify the body with the spark of what you will do

I see a future where your family
Holds no disagreement
I sense the saving that we’re craving
As you build your kingdom

I see the evidence
Of everything that we believe in
Focus our spirit on the beauty of this Holy season

Heart – soul – strength
Our mind and heaven linked
My neighbor is my brother
And division is extinct

There’s no place for it now
There probably never was
Refine us in your mercy God and root us in your love

And when the enemy attacks
May we cling closer to you
When sorrow’s at our back
May we find hope in your truth

Are fear and pain and death
The only things within view?
Resurrect our labored hearts with something perfect and new

And as we rise up
And lift our eyes up
A greater portion for your people
Father fill our cup

I feel it in you
Revival come through
Jesus fall like fire and do only what you can do

Set this place ablaze
Destroy our wicked ways
Restore the temple in your children as we seek your face

We speak it out loud
We claim it right now
Every tongue confess and every single knee will bow down

We want the breakthrough
We need the whole you
We pray with patience for your coming and your healing too

Of poverty and addiction
The fear of sins conviction
Anxiety and piety and all man made affliction

Beauty from ashes
A city on a hill
We know who you are so we will rest and we’ll be still

We know you’re not done
Come Holy Spirit, come
Sweep through this city with the power of the Risen One

I believe that what is Holy knit cannot be undone
Love of God
Love of City
May the two become one

I believe that what is Holy knit cannot be undone
Love of God
Love of City
May the two become one

Amen
